BiSS C
As a partner of BiSS Association e.V., we offer services related to BiSS C, including:
- Consulting
- Microcontroller programming
- Integration of FPGA cores from iC-Haus
- Creation of electronic data sheets (EDS)
- Ready-to-use C libraries
- Certification of BiSS C sensors
BiSS C Properties
BiSS C is a high-speed sensor/actuator bus protocol that offers the following features:
- Precise timing for fast process data
- Compensation of signal delays
- Configurable data word length
- Embedded control communication (read/write registers, commands)
- CRC protection
- Up to eight slave devices connected in a daisy chain to one master controller
- Electronic data sheet stored on the sensor/actuator
- Automatic reading and configuration of communication parameters
BiSS C Speed
The data rates depend exclusively on the underlying physical signal transmission. With RS422, a master clock frequency of 10 MHz is realistic.
BiSS C Applications
- Motor Control
- Robotics
- Industry 4.0.
BiSS C Certification
A certification system for BiSS C sensors has been developed by Scherer Tech in cooperation with the BiSS Association e.V. and is available to the public as a fee-based service. A list of certification bodies can be found here.
Certification costs
Scherer Tech offers a certification package at a price of EUR 5,000. Members of BiSS Association e.V. receive a 40% discount, i.e. EUR 3,000. The package includes
- 5 test runs with reports
- 6 hours of consulting
- certificates
Certification process
Certification is carried out on representative samples of a BiSS sensor at our premises. Reports are created and sent to the manufacturer. Once all problems have been resolved and the tests have been passed, a certificate is issued for the sensor.
A certified BiSS sensor may be marked with the BiSS INTERFACE CERTIFIED logo.
